On Monday, October 28th, one student proudly represented our school in the table tennis tournament. Finally, on Saturday, November 2nd, five teams took part in the volleyball tournament, displaying great sportsmanship and energy. We couldn’t be prouder of the amazing efforts and achievements of our OIS students!

Our students showcased incredible teamwork and sportsmanship during Hockey!

On the morning of the first Saturday of the autumn holidays, two students from Group 2 participated in an introduction to hockey at MHC De Reigers. The session was filled with an hour of fun and games. Meanwhile, one Group 3 student joined a mixed team for some exciting 3-against-3 matches. This special team included players from three different schools in Hoofddorp. What an amazing effort from all the players! A big thank you to the parents and MHC for making this possible.

In the afternoon, two teams from Groups 5 and 6, as well as one team from Groups 7 and 8, competed in their matches. Under the watchful eyes of many spectators, the children played some fantastic matches and achieved great results. However, the most important highlight of the day was the joy shared by all the children as they played alongside and against their peers.

At the end of the day, every player was rewarded with a medal for their effort and enthusiasm.

Table Tennis Tournament Highlights

Our very first player in the table tennis tournament, Oleg from Group 8, achieved an impressive third place by winning the runner-up final. His performance was outstanding, and we all congratulate him on this well-deserved achievement!

Volleyball Tournament Recap

On the second Saturday of the autumn holidays, the volleyball tournament took place at the Fanny Blankers Koen Hall. The morning session featured three teams: one combined Group 3 and 4 team, and two teams from Group 5, playing the throwing-and-catching variation of volleyball. The day began with a warm-up for all participating teams, organized efficiently by VHC. Each team played three matches under the supervision of their dedicated team volunteers. The OIS teams demonstrated incredible team spirit, with great catches and displays of sportsmanship admired by spectators from the stands.

In the afternoon session, two more OIS teams—one from Group 6 and one from Group 7—played traditional volleyball, incorporating serving and bumping. Following a thorough warm-up, the teams competed in several intense and enthusiastic matches. The efforts and teamwork of all players were rewarded with medals at the end of the day.

I am incredibly proud of all the players from our school who participated and had so much fun during these events. Their enthusiasm and sportsmanship were truly inspiring.

If your child is interested in trying out hockey, table tennis, volleyball, or any other sport but you’re unsure how to sign up with a club in Hoofddorp, feel free to contact Miss Sandra or visit the website www.hameer.nl for more information.
