New Mobile Phone and Smart Watch Policy in Primary Schools
To support our students' learning and well-being, we are introducing a new policy regarding the use of mobile phones and smart watches during school hours. This initiative aligns with recent government regulations and aims to reduce distractions while encouraging meaningful social interactions and engagement in the classroom.
By Bethan, ICT Coordinator and Teaching AssistantIn response to new government regulations, primary schools are implementing policies regarding the use of mobile phones and smart watches. This comes after a successful implementation in secondary schools. These rules aim to create a more focused and distraction-free learning environment for young students.
As a school, we understand that some students need a device to communicate with their parents while traveling home. However, the key point of this policy is that during school hours, students must keep their smart watches, phones stored away and either off or on silent in their school bags.
These measures are designed to minimize distractions, encourage better social interactions, and ensure that students remain engaged in their educational activities. The government believes that these steps will contribute to a more productive and safe school environment.
By implementing these policies, schools strive to create an environment where students can thrive both academically and socially, free from the distractions that mobile devices can bring. If you have any questions or concerns about the new policy, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. For more details, please refer to the policy document.
Thank you for your continued support in fostering a positive and enriching learning environment for our students.
